Women’s Bible Study

1 John: Love Like Jesus
2 John: Love in Truth
3 John: Love in Action
Jude: Love Stands Firm
Philemon: Love Extends Grace

This year, we will focus on a collection of New Testament letters that carry a deeply personal tone — letters written to real people, communities, and situations. These letters are filled with encouragement, instruction, warnings, reminders, and invitations to remain faithful to Jesus. They speak not only to what we believe, but to how the love of Christ transforms the way we live, relate to others, and walk in faithfulness.

We will not be studying every New Testament letter, since we have previously walked through James and 1 & 2 Thessalonians, and while other letters such as 1 Timothy and Titus were also written to individuals, they are specifically classified as Pastoral Epistles, focusing primarily on church leadership and ministry. Instead, we will spend time in 1–3 John, Jude, and Philemon — letters that help us understand what it looks like to be deeply loved by Jesus and transformed to love like Jesus.

Through these letters, we will discover what it means to abide in God’s love, walk in truth, love others sacrificially, serve the body of Christ, stand firm in our faith, extend forgiveness, and pursue reconciliation through the power of the Gospel.

Walking through these Love Letters gives us a beautiful picture of what it looks like to live out the Gospel in everyday life — loving God, loving His people, and reflecting the heart of Jesus wherever He sends us.

Studying these Love Letters is important because they answer the question: “What does it look like for people who are deeply loved by Jesus to love and live more like Jesus?” They remind us that the Gospel is not only something we believe — it is something that transforms the way we walk, worship, serve, forgive, live, and love.
